This morning as I was taking a photo off the hotel balcony in Tel Aviv, and I stepped forward into a gutter around the shrubbery. I fell into the shrub, which knocked out my contact and lacerated my eye. I just made a little visit to the local clinic and got steroid drops. If it still hurts tomorrow, they tell me I get to try to find an ophthalmologist. I am hoping for a better outcome...
Other than that, it was a pretty good day. The mayor of Nazareth canceled on us, but we went to a local pastry shop instead. Can't say I minded. Ha!
I am now in Tiberius with a night view of the Sea of Galilee!

OMGosh, this is the wierdest thing...I'm doing your Ruth Bible study with a handful of girlfriends on Monday nights...every other Monday night, actually...I was looking around your website to find some extra study material that one of the girls in Bible study suggested and I stumbled onto this blog. I read the latest entry and wondered to myself, "Hmmm...wonder when this was last updated...k, so she stumbled and hit her eye...wow, sounds like something I'd do, lol"...I realize it was TODAY, THIS MORNING...so I start praying over you...still looking over your recent entries...seeing that you are on a "mission trip" looks like...thinking, wow, she's like so typical of a professor...doing some research...in the Holy Lands...k...I keep looking down and see a picture of your car...hmmm, wonder what that's about...realizing you were at the U2 concert...I just start laughing out loud...omgosh, you're so real, you'd probably love our group of girls at Bible study...WE WERE THERE AT THE U2 CONCERT!!!!! We had to schedule our EVERY OTHER MONDAY NIGHT Bible study around that concert, so instead of our usual 2nd/4th Monday nights, this Bible study is 1st/3rd Monday nights...too funny! Can't wait to tell the girls Monday night, they're going to get such a kick out of this...k, so we'll be praying for your eye, hope it doesn't spoil the fun of your trip, but somewhere/somehow, you know there will be blessing in the injury :)

Girl! You and falling down. You seriously need that bubble wrap suit MyGeek wants to make for me.
Praying your eyes heals quick & without an ophthalmologist! Somehow the medical standards just aren't quite the same...
Actually, Lacie, medical standards here are quite high, but I'm blessed with feeling much better this morning. Yay.
Rhonda, my bubble suit would need a helmet with face shield. :)
Robin, how very fun. I just might have to join you one of those Monday nights.
